Splicing
Splicing footage can only be done on film (analogue) editing. It is the technique of adjoining two lots of film together using splicing tape. This involves cutting two pieces of film, placing them in the correct order and taping them together.
A splicing machine allows the footage to be lined up and taped together easier.
